XS is the smallest of the three, with a 5.8-inch Super Retina HD screen and a resolution of 2436x1125 pixels. XS Max is instead the largest, with its 6.5 inches and a resolution of 2688x1242 pixels, always with Super Retina. Then XR, 6.1 inches and 1792x828, lower in terms of resolution and image quality (it has a Liquid Retina) but intermediate in size. Absent from XR the HDR color technology and the 3D Touch, which both other models possess. The Face ID is present in all models.
Regarding the XS and XS Max cameras, they have two 12 megapixel cameras behind, against the single XR, and a 7 megapixel front. Equal among the devices the possibility of shooting 4k video even at 60fps with optical stabilization and slow motion. All have the same processor, A12 Bionic, so they align in terms of performance.
Unlike the other two, XR is water resistant only up to half the depth, 1 meter. On the other hand, its 2942 mAh battery lasts much longer than the other two. XS with 2658 mAh and XS Max with 3174 still allow arriving at the end of the day with acceptable percentages. The memory cuts are 64, 256 and 512GB for XS / XS Max and 64, 128 and 256GB for XR. Quick top-up present in all three.
The basic prices are not low, and what's new. € 1189 for XS and € 1289 for XS Max, € 889 for XR which should theoretically be the low cost version. Which one is convenient? In our opinion XS is the best 360 ° choice, thanks to its relative compactness which makes it perfect for everyday use. XS Max already falls into the category of phablets and does not hold very well in hand, compensating with a larger, resolute display and improved battery. XR, however, does not satisfy anyone and we honestly think it is better to keep the old iPhone X or recover it used.
