Burning MacBook Pro, Apple calls them

A little happy roast of apples

The American consumer safety protection committee has withdrawn from the market several 15-inch Macbook Pro series, sold from 2015 to 2017. The problem encountered concerns the laptop battery, which would pose a risk of fire due to overheating excessive.

The reports received from Apple have so far been 26, including burns, smoke inhalation and damage to objects caused by the flames. The specifications of the MacBook bonfires include a 15.4 ”display, a 2.2-2.5 GHz processor, a 256-1TB SSD, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, two USB 3 ports and one HDMI.

To check if your MacBook is also at risk of self-combustion, go to the official Apple website and enter the product serial number. To find it, all you have to do is check the bottom of the Mac, next to the conformity marks, or the original packaging in the space next to the bar code. Alternatively go to the Apple menu and select the ‘Information on this Mac’ item.

Support, repairs and replacements by the manufacturer for this kind of problem are completely free.
