Based on a youth audience survey
Adolescents and young people in general are increasingly losing interest in Facebook, instead turning to platforms like YouTube and Snapchat. This is shown by a survey conducted recently that took into consideration an American public aged 13 to 21, the so-called Z generation.
The figures speak of a good 30% that has already given the sack to Facebook and 29.7% in Kik, an instant messaging app. Skype follows with 24.6%, Twitter with 21% and Instagram with 20.3%. Slightly different statistics than those regarding daily accesses, with Instagram and YouTube in command with a 64.59% and 62.48%. Snapchat touches 51.31%, while Facebook stops at 34.19%.
The total offers an interesting insight into today's trends, with YouTube and Snapchat mastering in terms of daily use and Zuckerberg's services falling sharply. The purely textual contents still lose ground in favor of videos and images, and in fact YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are used respectively by 85, 72 and 69% of young people and adolescents.
